Back
Bay
Deck
The
current rear exit to the back yard has surpassed it's
usefulness and the homeowners have been ready for a while
now to install a new deck that is more accommodating and
increasly inviting to step out to the back yard. With this
new deck going in place it is area I'm sure will be
frequently used on a warm Summer morning. The material I'll
be using is a Trex "slate Gray" deck with Cortex hidden
fasteners. The trim will be a Harvey PVC also attached with
hidden fastenters.
Before Pictures
Well....here is what remains of the back exit.
Work Begins
Ledger boars in place and mounted structural lag
screw
Sonu tubes pour, post mounted and outside frame in place.
Upper deck now framed. It's time to frame the steps.
With the steps now in place, the PVC risers will now be
installed.
With the risers now completed & side skirting in, time
for decking.
Starting at the first step and I will work my way up.
Now that the steps and the upper ribbon in place,
decking is next.
With the decking complete, the final touch will be scotia
molding.
With scotia in place now it's time to plug the screw
holes.
Second view.
The beauty of Azek
decking and using Cortex fasteners in conjunction with it is
that these wholes will simply disappear once they are
plugged.
Front entry also getting deck deck boards.
This looks so much better.

The final product!
I could not be happier with the
finished product. The workmanship was outstanding. He is a
skilled craftsman who pays attention to detail.
He was professional and meticulous in all
aspects of the job, and was a pleasure to work with.
We are looking forward to future projects with him.
