Caprio Doors/Portland

In this home to be rented, the owners wanted to revamp the existing doors from the light weight Lauan Doors and go with a 6 Panel Textured Door. The job requires that all existing doors be removed, fill-in all existing locations of the door latches, mortise and bore new doors for hinges and door knobs. Once this is completed, the new doors will be installed to fit existing openings.

Other openings needing new doors

Basically there will be several processes to go through for each door once they've been removed. The following pictures takes us through each step.

1st step is cut to door to height                                               Then plane the door to width on latch side

3rd..set jig for hinge routing                                                 Hinges are routed to match existing frame hinges

5th is to rout for an additional hinge in this case                          Once the door is hung, I'll bore for knob & latch

“We have a rental home that had several doors damaged by tenants and hanging doors is not our forte.  We were given Mike’s name through a friend and we were so happy to have found his company.   Mike promptly assessed the situation and put together a detailed proposal for us that itemized the cost and scope of work.  Mike turned the job around very quickly so we didn’t have any downtime in renting the unit.  We are EXTREMELY happy with the final results of the new doors!   I will definitely use CrossWorks Carpentry again and I have already recommended Mike Gervais to friends in need of an honest and skilled carpenter.”
